No need to quarantine or self-isolate when you visit Ecuador!

Updated 20th October

Please get a PCR covid19 test within 10 days of arriving in Ecuador.

Ecuador has no quarantine/self-isolation requirements, provided you can show that you tested negative on a PCR test within 10 days of your arrival – how good is that???
Anyone who cannot provide a negative covid test will need to be tested on arrival in Ecuador and will need to stay in quarantine while waiting for the results (approx. 3 days). If your test comes back negative then you can leave quarantine immediately, if positive then you will receive medical treatment and you will need to remain in quarantine until you have tested negative.

Life in Our Hostel

The Secret Garden complies with all relevant covid-19 requirements. We have a large hostel and to
enable social distancing we ensure that the hostel is never more than 50% full.
Dorm guests are separated throughout our 13 dorms, with max 30% occupancy in each dorm.

Travelling in Ecuador

Ecuador continues to relax the various covid restrictions and we expect this will continue. Most of
the tourism infrastructure (hostels, restaurants, national parks, tourist attractions, public
transport/intercity buses, flights to Galapagos etc.) has re-opened over the past couple of months.
The Secret Garden Cotopaxi is also open and while things are still a bit quiet we are offering some
great long stay discounts. E.g. 7 nights in a dorm incl all meals, snacks, tea, coffee etc. and some free
tours from $140, incl tax.

We’ll update this page when we hear of any changes. And please don’t hesitate to drop us an email
if you have further questions or need to clarify any details –
